Anthony Pratt

Global Chairman, Pratt Industries

Anthony Pratt is the Chairman of Pratt industries, the world’s largest, privately owned 100% recycled paper and clean energy company, it has more than $4 billion in annual sales in the United States. Pratt is America’s 5th largest corrugated box manufacturer. The company has invested billions to build and buy more than 70 factories in 25 US states. Pratt employs 11,000 Americans in well-paying, green collar, manufacturing jobs at an average wage of almost $100,000 per person. In fact we have also built 5 of America’s last 7 paper mills—all 100% recycled and as a result, Pratt industries is the only 100% recycled paper company in the United States— selling 100% recycled packaging to iconic American customers. Recycling is an important weapon against climate change because as things decay in the landfill, they emit methane gas, which is 84x worse for the environment than CO2 emissions in causing the greenhouse effect over a 25 year period. In fact landfills emit more carbon than all of global aviation. Today our five 100% recycled papermills produce around 2 million tons of 100% recycled paper a year, saving the equivalent of more than 100 football fields of trees, every 24 hours. Pratt believes in reinvesting its profits back into the business. 90% of earnings in most public companies are spent on share buybacks and dividends. But we do the opposite– reinvesting all of our profits in new factories, new machinery, high-tech robotics and artificial intelligence and our people.
