Maurice Ferré MD is a serial entrepreneur with a focus on transformational medical technology. Today, Ferré is the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors at INSIGHTEC, the innovator of incisionless brain surgery. This technology uses highly focused sound waves to destroy targets deep inside the body with no surgical incisions. At the helm of INSIGHTEC, he secured a $150M investment round in early 2018 to commercialize the first approved indication in the brain for essential tremor. Prior to INSIGHTEC, Ferré served as CEO and Chairman of the Board of MAKO Surgical Corp., a transformational robotic surgical company that he co-founded in 2004. The company was sold to Stryker Corporation for $1.65 billion in 2013. Ferré's first company, Visualization Technology, a world leader in image-guided surgery, was acquired by GE Healthcare in 2002. Ferré received the BioFlorida Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018 and the Ernst & Young 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He received his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health from Boston University in 1992. Ferré is currently active on the boards of The Everglades Foundation, Endeavor Miami and Boston University.
