Kimberly Powell has spent nearly two decades at the intersection of computing and healthcare. As vice president of healthcare and life sciences at NVIDIA, she leads the company’s healthcare strategy, spanning the building of hardware and software platforms for accelerated computing, AI and simulation that power the world’s medical imaging, life sciences, drug discovery and healthcare robotics ecosystems.
She also drives the go-to-market strategy that brings these platforms to customers globally. Previously, Powell worked in hardware engineering, focused on circuit design and product management for diagnostic imaging systems at Planar Systems.
Powell joined NVIDIA in 2008 to establish NVIDIA GPUs as the accelerator platform for medical imaging instruments and has since expanded the company's healthcare presence to include platforms such as NVIDIA BioNeMo for AI-driven biology and drug discovery, MONAI for medical imaging AI, Parabricks for accelerated genomics, and for real-time sensor processing and clinical AI applications, with adoption across the world’s leading pharmaceutical, life sciences and healthcare companies.
Powell holds a B.S. in electrical engineering with a concentration in computer engineering from Northeastern University.
