Casey Wright is the founding CEO of Flu Lab, a philanthropy that envisions a world free from the dangers of influenza. Flu Lab supports cutting-edge research and programs in order to de-risk new ideas and tools designed to help discover, share, and activate transformative solutions to influenza. Flu Lab's grants and investments collectively work to enhance and expand the influenza ecosystem, and stimulate and accelerate research and translation of discoveries into applied technologies and medical countermeasures. Prior to forming Flu Lab, Casey established a philanthropic program to increase school-aged influenza vaccination rates and began new innovation initiatives for universal influenza vaccine development. A former Presidential Management Fellow, Casey served at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) developing national plans and policies to support a response to pandemic influenza. Concurrent with her time at HHS, Casey served at the U.S. Department of State, establishing the biological threat arm of their foreign consequence management program. Casey began her career at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and she holds a Master's degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
