Robin Cook is Coinbase’s Head of Federal Affairs and Legislative Counsel. He leads the Federal government relations team and is the lead lawyer on state and federal legislation for America’s largest digital asset exchange. Previously, Robin served as Vice President and Senior Counsel at the American Bankers Association, where he developed legal and legislative strategies across a variety of banking, payments, data security, intellectual property, technology, tax, and student lending issues. Before joining ABA, he was Senior Director of Advocacy and Counsel for Special Projects at the Credit Union National Association, where he advanced CUNA’s highest priority legislative and regulatory objectives, and directed the association’s litigation and payments policy efforts.
Robin began his career as an antitrust attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where he litigated cases for financial services clients and defended mergers at the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice. As a law student, he also worked for the House Committee on Homeland Security.
Robin is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and received an undergraduate degree in journalism at the University of Missouri.
