Anne Bovaird Nevins serves as Chief of Economic and Community Impact for Accelerator for America (AFA). Under Anne’s leadership of Economic and Community Development initiatives, AFA helps local leaders advance more prosperous and equitable communities through strategic economic and community development by providing resources and support to lay the foundations of economic mobility – housing affordability, thriving small businesses, vibrant neighborhoods, access to capital, and career pathways in growth industries. We identify and share innovative solutions, create collaborative learning communities supported by national experts, and deliver specialized technical assistance that drives meaningful local impact.
Before joining AFA, Anne had been with PIDC, Philadelphia’s economic development corporation for 16 years, serving as the organization’s President from 2020 to 2022. In that role, Anne was responsible for the organization’s efforts to develop and implement strategies to drive economic growth to every corner of Philadelphia. Prior to her appointment as President, Anne served as PIDC’s Chief Strategy and Communications Officer and Senior Vice President for Marketing and Business Development.
Earlier in her career, Anne served in the White House Office of Cabinet Affairs; the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games; the Kimmel Center, the regional performing arts center in Philadelphia; and Historic Philadelphia, Inc. Anne has a Masters in Business Administration from the Wharton School and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the Univ
