Mr. Kwon Ping Ho

Executive Chairman, Banyan Tree Holdings

Ho Kwon Ping is the founder, owner and executive chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings, which owns listed and private companies engaged in the development, ownership, and operation of hotels, resorts, spas, residential homes, and other lifestyle activities around the world. Ping launched Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts in 1994, and now manages more than 40 hotels and resorts, 70 spas, 80 retail galleries, and three golf courses.  Another 20 resorts are currently under development. Ping is also the founder and current chairman of the Board of Trustees of Singapore Management University and also a board director of Diageo, the UK-listed spirits company. Additionally, he serves as executive chairman of Thai Wah Public Company, a family business engaged in starch and food products listed in Thailand. Ping was educated at Tunghai University in Taiwan, Stanford University, and the University of Singapore. He has also been conferred two honorary doctorates, from Johnson and Wales University in 2000, and from Hong Kong Poly University in 2015.
