Yoshito Hori

A Harvard MBA graduate and former Sumitomo Corporation employee, Yoshito Hori established GLOBIS Management School in 1992. GLOBIS gained University status from the Government of Japan in 2006 and launched its Full-time MBA in English in 2012. GLOBIS University is now the No.1 business school in Japan by student intake. Mr. Hori founded GLOBIS Capital Partners in 1996, which has managed seven funds with over USD $2 billion. He founded the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Japan Chapter in 1995 and became its first board member from Asia in 1996. He has served on various international and Japanese boards, including the World Economic Forum and Harvard Business School Alumni Board, and has been featured on the covers of Forbes Japan and Forbes Asia. In 2008, Mr. Hori launched the G1 Summit, which led to the foundation of the G1 Institute in 2013. He also launched Project KIBOW three days after the Great Tohoku Earthquake in 2011, leading to the formation of the KIBOW Foundation and KIBOW Impact Investment. Mr. Hori is the owner of the Ibaraki Robots professional basketball team and Ibaraki Broadcasting System in his hometown of Mito. In 2022, he produced LuckyFes. He was awarded the Medal with Blue Ribbon in 2024. Mr. Hori received his BS in engineering from Kyoto University and his MBA from Harvard Business School. He is an avid swimmer and the father of five sons.
