Cynthia Chen is Chairlady, Executive Director and President of Pulnovo Medical, where she provides strategic leadership and oversees global operations. She brings a strong international perspective and deep capital markets expertise. Under her leadership, Pulnovo Medical has achieved significant global milestones, including securing seven FDA certifications, obtaining 12 market approvals, including European Union and the Middle East, Malaysia, etc., and establishing a clinical footprint across multiple countries. This has fast-tracked the company's path to becoming a global MedTech enterprise with full operational capabilities. During this period, Cynthia led the company’s capital markets efforts, achieving a cumulative financing track record exceeding $400 million USD. Most recently she spearheaded an oversubscribed $100 million strategic financing round led by global MedTech giant Medtronic, alongside continued support from top-tier investors like OrbiMed, Qiming Venture Partners, Lilly Asia Ventures (LAV), and EQT, while building a truly multinational executive team.
Prior to Pulnovo Medical, Cynthia worked at the World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters in Geneva and at Medtronic. Her achievements have been widely recognized by authoritative institutions. Notably, she was selected as a 2026 World Economic Forum Young Global Leader (YGL). Her accolades also include being named to Fortune's "Most Powerful Women in Business" and "40 Under 40" lists, successive appearances on the Forbes Asia and Forbes China "30 Under 30" lists, and repeated selection as a Hurun U30 China Entrepreneur Leader. Furthermore, she has been featured in the Forbes China Top 100 Global Chinese Elites. She was also selected for the United Nations-China-Europe Outstanding Tech Entrepreneur Program and honored as a “Technology Leading Talent.”
Cynthia holds a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience and Psychology from Emory University and a Master's degree in Public Health from Columbia University. She has also completed EMBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
