
Rahul Mammen Mappillai is the Managing Director (C.E.O) of MRF Ltd, India’s largest tyre manufacturer with revenues of US$ 3.4 Billion and market capitalisation of US$ 7.45 Billion. The company was founded by his grandfather - the late Mr. K.M Mammen Mappillai. Rahul holds a B.A (Hons) Economics degree from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and an MBA from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). He joined MRF in 2003 and has varied experience across multiple departments of the company before becoming the Managing Director in 2017.MRF’s portfolio includes tyres for an extensive range of applications - from aircrafts to specialty tyres for mass transportation projects. MRF holds the coveted title of being India’s No.1 tyre company - a position held since 1987, and is also ranked globally amongst the Top 20 Tyre Companies in the world.Rahul is passionate about R&D & Manufacturing Technology. Under his leadership, MRF has made significant investments in robotics, cutting edge manufacturing and best-in-class R&D capabilities. This has ensured that MRF’s products are the most preferred in all the segments the company operates in. He is also driving the implementation of Digital Technology across the company.He is very passionate about cricket and is responsible for MRF Pace Foundation which trains talented cricketers from all over India, and other cricket playing nations, in the specialised craft of pace bowling. Rahul Mammen Mappillai is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organisation. He is married to Veena, and has 2 sons.
