Deputy Coordinating Minister for Basic Infrastructure and Regional Development, Republic of Indonesia
Rachmat Kaimuddin is the Deputy Coordinating Minister for Basic Infrastructure at the Coordinating Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Indonesia. He is responsible for overseeing and monitoring basic infrastructurepolicies implemented by ministries and agencies.From 2022-2024, he served as Deputy Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Transportation at the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia. In this role, he provided strategic advice on government initiatives, including energy transition mechanisms, sustainable infrastructure and transportation, and foreign investment opportunities in Indonesia. He was also involved in facilitating the digitalization of various government services.With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Kaimuddin has held senior executive roles across various industries, including private equity, aviation services, cement production, and banking. During his tenure as Chief Executive Officer, he led the fundraising for Indonesia’s homegrown e-commerce platform, Bukalapak, through the country’s largest IPO to date.Mr. Kaimuddin received his BSc in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute ofTechnology and MBA from Stanford University.
