
Kyungsun is a seasoned leader in sustainability, impact investing, and social innovation, currently serving as Chief Sustainability Officer at Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance. With over a decade of experience spanning corporate strategy, ESG integration, and nonprofit leadership, Kyungsun has consistently driven initiatives at the intersection of business, technology, and social impact.
Prior to joining Hyundai Marine & Fire, Kyungsun held executive and board positions across Asia and the U.S., including Managing Partner at The Sylvan Group, a Singapore-based private equity firm focused on ESG and impact investment. He also founded and led Root Impact, a pioneering nonprofit in Korea dedicated to building infrastructure for the social innovation ecosystem, and HG Initiative, an impact investment firm supporting early-stage social ventures.
He has served on the boards of several global organizations, including Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors in New York and the Resilient Cities Network in Singapore, contributing to strategies addressing climate resilience and urban inequality. From 2020 to 2023, he chaired the board of Communitas America, a New York-based nonprofit supporting community revitalization and inclusive entrepreneurship.
Kyungsun holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Korea University.
