
Karthik is a Partner in Infrastructure Fund, NIIF. He is part of NIIF’s founding team, playing a pivotal role in building the institution from the ground up. Apart from investments, his contributions have spanned fundraising, team building, and establishing strategic relationships across key stakeholders. Karthik is a seasoned infrastructure investor with over two decades of deep, hands-on experience across the entire lifecycle of infrastructure investment — from deal origination to asset management and successful exits. He brings a unique combination of perspectives as an investor, developer, investment banker, and policy contributor. Prior to NIIF, he was the Chief Investment Officer of the infrastructure platform of Khazanah (Malaysia) in India with IDFC (India) – Uniquest Infra. Earlier to that, he was Associate Director at KPMG in Investment banking – Infrastructure; and was Assistant General Manager at L&T IDPL (Developmental platform of Larsen & Toubro to invest and develop PPP assets in India). Karthik is credited with one of the most profitable exits in Indian infrastructure in toll roads. He brings a rare combination of institution-building experience, proprietary deal-making, operational transformation, and top-quartile exits. Karthik holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics and an MBA in Finance and Strategy from XLRI School of Business, India.
