Ms. Staveley first came to international prominence in 2007 with her bid for Liverpool Football Club, financed by Middle Eastern investors. This was followed by the takeover of Manchester City by HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in 2008. Later in 2008, Ms. Staveley and PCP led the £3.5billion recapitalisation of Barclays Bank, considered to be one of the outstanding corporate transactions in recent years. Ms. Staveley led the acquisition of Newcastle United Football Club by Public Investment Fund, PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports and Media, and sat on the Board of Directors of Newcastle United Football Club and on the English Premier League’s Board of Governors, including the Financial Controls Advisory Group and the Rights, Access and Facilities Framework (RAFF) Group. She also held the position of Co-CEO of the Club and was instrumental in the rebuilding of the Executive team.
