Rajiv B. Lall PhD, has over close to four decades of experience in academia, international public policy, investment banking, private equity and corporate and retail banking. His expertise spans infrastructure finance, sustainable investing, microfinance, capital markets, international trade, and macroeconomic policy issues across Southeast Asia, China, Africa, the U.S. and India. He was Executive Chairman of IDFC Ltd., a public private partnership focused on infrastructure finance; and Founder CEO of IDFC Bank now called IDFC First Bank. He has made pioneering contributions to the development of India’s impact investing and microfinance industries and is currently member of the UNDP SDG Global Steering Committee, an initiative to catalyse the flow of capital into SDG aligned activities around the world. He is based in Singapore at the Singapore Management University, where he is Professorial Research Fellow serving on the Management Committee of the Singapore Green Finance Centre and focusing on research/training relating to transition and blended finance and climate and impact aligned board governance.
