Pierce joined Temasek in 2017 and is the Deputy Head, Investment (North America) and Managing Director, Institutional Relations, based in Washington, DC. Currently, Pierce manages a team responsible for building and enhancing Temasek’s institutional relations across the Americas. These comprise relationships with external stakeholders and thought-leaders, including governments, regulators, corporate and business partners, non-governmental organizations, the media and the public. He also has responsibility for managing and assessing strategic issues that impact Temasek. Prior to joining Temasek, Pierce was Executive Director of Global Government Relations and Public Policy for JPMorgan Chase & Co. He previously served in a number of senior positions in the Executive branch, Congress and politics, most recently as Economic Policy Director for Governor Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign. From 2007 to 2009, Pierce served as Chief of Staff at the White House Council of Economic Advisers, where he advised senior White House and Administration officials on a variety of domestic and international economic policies. Before joining the White House, Pierce served as Senior Policy Advisor to the Secretary of Commerce where he was a key advisor on international trade and investment policy, as well as intellectual property and export control policies. He also worked in the International Trade Administration. Pierce spent several years on Capitol Hill working for former Washington State Congresswoman Jennifer Dunn.
