Mohamed Al Badr is the Head of the China Investment Program and Head of the Beijing office at Mubadala Investment Company, an Abu Dhabi-based sovereign investor managing a US $276 billion portfolio spanning six continents with interests in multiple sectors and asset classes. In this role, Mohamed oversees Mubadala’s investments and key relationships in China, and manages the assessment and deployment of capital in multiple asset classes and sectors, alongside his partners at China Development Bank Capital. He was also a key member of the team responsible for the launch of the US $10 billion China – UAE Cooperation Fund. Prior to joining Mubadala, Mohamed spent seven years at Masdar Capital and was in charge of assessing potential deals and equity investments to support the organization’s clean-tech investment portfolio. During that period, he was an integral part of teams deploying capital, adding value to existing portfolio companies and overseeing the formation of new funds. Mohamed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a focus on Financial Management, from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, USA.
