Bambang Susantono

Chairman, Nusantara Capital Authority, Indonesia

Bambang Susantono is the chairperson of the Nusantara Capital Authority of the Republic of Indonesia since March 2022. The Authority, a ministerial-level agency working directly under the President, is in charge of planning and constructing Indonesia’s new capital, as well as overseeing the government’s transition to the new city and eventually becoming its administrator. Among other activities in international organizations, Mr. Susantono currently serves as a member in United Nations’ High-Level Experts and Leaders’ Panel on Waters and Disasters, Islamic Development Bank Institute’s Board of Trustees, Bloomberg New Economy Council for Cities, and Tech for Good Institute’s Advisory Board. Mr. Susantono holds a PhD in Infrastructure Planning; two Master’s degrees in Transportation Engineering, and City and Regional Planning from the University of California Berkeley; and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Institute of Technology, Bandung.
