William Orum

William Orum is a Partner and member of the Investment Committee of Capricorn Investment Group. Capricorn manages capital on behalf of Jeff Skoll, the Skoll Foundation and others who strive for extraordinary investment results by leveraging market forces to accelerate large scale impact. The Firm employs a fundamental long-term investment approach and a focus on sustainable investments in order to enhance risk-adjusted returns across asset classes. William joined Capricorn in 2004 as one of its first investment professionals and became a partner in 2012. He has primary responsibility for investment strategy, public market investments, and risk management across the portfolio. Prior to Capricorn, he was an investment banker with Merrill Lynch in their global industries group focused on corporate finance and M&A advisory for technology clients. William received a BA from Amherst College and an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business, both with honors.
