Investor Leadership in Sustainable Infrastructure Investing and Climate Finance: On the Road to Brazil

-

COP 30, the UN global climate conference taking place later this year in Brazil, is an inflection point that has the potential to unlock and mobilize trillions of dollars to finance climate mitigation and adaptation initiatives, especially among the most vulnerable countries and populations. Efforts to mobilize the funds are proceeding on two tracks. First, governments, international organizations, and multinational banks are reforming outdated capital delivery systems. The second, a new, investor-driven, community-led track for capital deployment is focused on building sustainable carbon credit markets, particularly markets arising in the Global South. Previewing the expectations and likely outcomes of COP 30, our expert panel will focus on the steps regional leadership, working with interested philanthropists and investors, can take to bring these two tracks together to catalyze investment.
