Hidden Drivers of Talent Shortages: Employer Impacts Across Business, Health, and Performance (Invite only)

-

The World Economic Forum Future of Jobs Report 2025 estimates that nearly 67 percent of the US workforce will require upskilling or reskilling by 2030, highlighting the increasing pressure on employers to expand and sustain their talent pipeline. Building on insights from research by the Milken Institute Employer Action Exchange that identified talent shortages as an emerging risk employers face, this session will focus on how employers can address the specific drivers of workforce gaps. These include veteran workforce transitions, women’s health and representation, persistent structural exclusion, caregiving, and the impact of chronic diseases. The session will also highlight how employers can take action using four key levers: health-care policies and programs, organizational culture, business and community investments, and industry and sector standards. Featuring perspectives from leaders across industries, the discussion will highlight practical strategies and targeted investments that can expand talent pipelines, improve retention, and build a more resilient workforce.
