Distance as an Obstacle to Clinical Trial Access: Who Is Affected and Why It Matters

The interactive map below shows the distance from any county in the United States to the nearest county containing a Phase 2 or 3 clinical trial that was run between 2017 and 2023 based on the data available on ClinicalTrials.gov. Using the drop-down menu on the upper right of the map, you can generate a new map based on clinical trials for a specific disease type. Hovering over a county will give a readout of its demographic information based on the 2015-2019 American Community Survey.
