As technology rapidly reshapes how billions of people around the world live, learn, and work, education and workforce systems are not fully keeping pace with the skills and opportunities needed for the future—leaving many underprepared to achieve economic mobility and reach their full potential.
How do we ensure that today’s learners and leaders are not only prepared for a tech-driven economy but also have access to education, technology, and opportunities that enable them to thrive now and in the future?
The future of education and work, both in the US and globally, must empower people to use and shape advanced technology, chart their own pathways to success and prosperity, and drive lasting change in their communities.
The Milken Institute is launching a new initiative, the Future of Education and Work, to mobilize philanthropic capital and drive systemic change in how people learn, grow, and contribute to an ever-evolving world.
The Computing Imperative
The US cannot outpace global competitors with yesterday’s education models. Our report, developed in partnership with CodePath, challenges educators, funders, and industry leaders to move beyond incremental reform and reimagine the nation’s learning ecosystem for the age of artificial intelligence (AI) by blending computational rigor with creativity, ethics, and entrepreneurship.
