Marlene Garayzar is a co-founder of Stori, one of Mexico’s most prominent fintech companies, and a leading force in expanding financial inclusion across Latin America. Since launching Stori in 2018, she has helped drive its transformation into a landmark success, reaching nearly 4 million customers by 2025—many of whom were previously excluded from the formal banking system. In 2022, Stori became the first unicorn in Mexico founded by a woman, marking a pivotal moment for entrepreneurship in the region.
As Chief Governance Officer, Garayzar leads efforts to build a responsible, transparent, and customer-focused financial platform. She brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector, both in Mexico and internationally, with a career spanning traditional institutions and digital innovators.
Garayzar holds a degree in International Relations from ITESM and an MBA from ITAM. She has been recognized as one of Mexico’s 100 Most Powerful Women by Expansión for four consecutive years (2023–2026), and as one of the 100 Most Powerful Women in Business by Forbes for three consecutive years (2023–2025). In 2024, the Women Economic Forum honored her as an “Iconic Woman Creating a Better World for All,” and in 2025 she received EY’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” award in the In Expansion category.
