Alasdair MacLeod

Executive Chairman, Macdoch Group

Alasdair MacLeod is Executive Chairman of the Macdoch Group, his London-based family office with a diversified multi-asset portfolio spanning public and private markets, venture capital and philanthropy. He brings a long-term approach to capital allocation, focused on building resilient enterprises and backing opportunities that generate enduring economic, environmental and social value.

In Australia, Macdoch has significant commercial operations in regenerative agriculture and the emerging nature economy. Alasdair chairs ImpactAg Australia, a natural capital investment and asset management business, and AtlasAg, which provides tools to support the development of farm-based carbon and other natural capital projects. He is also active in climate and agtech investing through Macdoch Ventures, the Group’s venture capital arm.

His agricultural interests are grounded in practice: he produces grass-fed beef and fine wool in Australia and runs a small, mixed farm in the Cotswolds in the United Kingdom, giving him direct insight into the opportunities and pressures facing landholders across different farming systems.

Alasdair is the Chairman of the Macdoch Foundation, an agri-food systems-focused philanthropic foundation funding in Australia, the United States, the UK and Europe.

He is also engaged in advocacy efforts to encourage use of environmental markets to direct finance towards landscape repair and is recognised for his understanding of soil health, regenerative agriculture, natural capital and the role of the land sector in supporting decarbonisation and net zero commitments.
