Rick Rieder

Chief Investment Officer of Global Fixed Income and Head of Global Allocation Investments, BlackRock

Rick Rieder, Senior Managing Director, BlackRock’s Chief Investment Officer of Global Fixed Income, Head of Fundamental Fixed Income, and Head of Global Allocation. Responsible for roughly $2.7 trillion in assets, Mr. Rieder is a member of BlackRock’s Global Executive Committee, the GEC Investments Sub-Committee, Global Operating Committee, BlackRock Foundation, and Chairman of the BlackRock Investment Council. Before joining BlackRock in 2009, Mr. Rieder was President and CEO of R3 Capital Partners and spent the prior 20 years at Lehman Brothers. He served as Vice Chairman of the Borrowing Committee for the US Treasury and member of the Federal Reserve Investment Advisory Committee. Mr. Rieder currently serves on Alphabet’s Investment Advisory Committee. Mr. Rieder was named 2023 Outstanding Portfolio Manager by Morningstar, nominated for Outstanding Portfolio Manager in 2021, awarded Global Unconstrained Fixed Income Manager of the Year in 2015 by Institutional Investor, and inducted into the Fixed Income Hall of Fame in 2013. Five of the funds Mr. Rieder manages have been awarded Gold Medals by Morningstar. Rieder serves as Chairman and President of the Board of Education for North Star Academy in Newark, NJ, and is Founder and Chairman of the Board of Graduation Generation Public School Collaboration in Atlanta. Mr. Rieder was honored at the Choose Success Awards Atlanta in 2015 for his dedication to public education. He is on Board of Advisors for the Hospital for Special Surgery and a Member of the Ownership Group and Board of Advisors of the Baltimore Orioles.
