Marc Hurlbert, Ph.D., a pharmacologist by training, serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA). MRA is the largest nonprofit, non-governmental funder of melanoma research and has invested $175 million to support >475 projects to advance melanoma research. As CEO, Marc is responsible for setting and executing the strategic direction of the organization and its research programs in partnership with patients, scientists, clinicians, and supporters. Previous to his appointment as CEO, Dr. Hurlbert served as MRA’s Chief Science Officer from November 2018. In this role, he was responsible for guiding MRA’s scientific strategy, overseeing the grant-making program, and forging scientific collaborations.
