Cinny Kennard

Executive Director, Annenberg Foundation

Cinny Kennard is Executive Director of the Annenberg Foundation, one of the nation’s leading philanthropic organizations. An award-winning broadcast journalist and longtime non-profit media executive, Kennard also served as a national and international correspondent for CBS News, for which she received the prestigious duPont-Columbia Award. Cinny’s long career in executive non-profit management includes serving as Senior Vice President of Programming at the Smithsonian Institution and senior advisor to the Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands, where she organized outreach to stakeholders including the White House, Capitol Hill leadership, and the U.S. State Department, including bringing President Obama to Sunnylands for a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and other key meetings. Cinny also was the first Managing Director, and managing editor, of National Public Radio’s West Coast Production Center, NPR West. She works closely with the University of Southern California (USC) Annenberg School and currently serves as the Chair of the Board at the USC Center on Philanthropy and Public Policy. An accomplished author, Cinny is working on a book about the surge of females in philanthropy.
