Sergio Gusmao Suchodolski

Partner, Executive Vice President, Development Finance and Impact Investing, VR Investimentos

Sergio Gusmão Suchodolski is a partner and EVP at VR Investments. Mr Suchodolski is also a Global Fellow at the Wilson Center and a member of the the Investment Committee of the Catalytic Climate Finance Facility, a JV between Convergence Finance and the Climate Policy Initiative. Previously he was the CEO of the Development Bank of São Paulo, Brazil. Prior to that he was CEO of the Development Bank of Minas Gerais (BDMG), in Brazil and before that he was Director General, Strategy and Partnerships, at the New Development Bank (NDB) in Shanghai, China. Mr. Suchodolski served as Chief of Staff to the CEO of the National Development Bank of Brazil (BNDES) from 2013 to 2016 and as Vice President, Corporate Development at Continental Grain Company in New York, NY. Earlier in his career, Mr. Suchodolski held other senior positions in the public and private sectors in New York, Brasilia and Geneva. Mr. Suchodolski holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School, and a Master’s degree in international trade from Sciences Po Paris – Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris.
