David Blake is the global head of public markets for Principal Asset Management, overseeing global equities and global fixed income capabilities and trading resources. He also continues to lead the global fixed income team as chief investment officer, responsible for building the firm’s fixed income business across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. He oversees portfolio management, research, and trading conducted by investment teams involved in various traditional and liquid alternative strategies. Blake joined Principal Asset Management in 2000. Previously, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager for Boatmen’s Capital Management, a subsidiary of Bank of America, where he began his career in 1989. He received both an MBA and a bachelor’s degree from Saint Louis University. Blake holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
