Howard Byck

Senior Director, Business and Program Development, Milken Institute

Howard Byck is currently Senior Director of Business & Program Development at the Milken Institute, where he focuses on growing revenue and partnerships for the Milken Institute’s Finance, Health, and Philanthropy Pillars as well as International workstreams.

Prior to joining the Milken Institute, Byck founded BIKE PATH CONSULTING LLC, which helps organizations – from nonprofits to corporations to foundations – build financial resilience, strengthen partnerships, and build sustainable growth.

Byck was formerly senior vice president of partnerships and head of development for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation where he oversaw donor relations and fundraising for the Foundation, including the development and implementation of its integrated strategy for major gifts, corporate giving, and foundation grants to support organizational priorities and growth.

Prior to his role at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, he was senior vice president of corporate and sports alliances at the American Cancer Society, where he led cause-marketing campaigns, sponsorships, licensing, workplace giving programs, and corporate foundation grants to fund cancer research, advocacy, health equity programs, and patient support services.

Previously, Byck was senior vice president of client services for Strayer@Work, part of Strategic Education, Inc.’s portfolio of investor-funded corporate education programs. In that role, he developed and launched a new human capital consulting venture to help Fortune 1000 companies identify skills gaps in their organizations and deliver targeted training and education.

Prior to that, Byck was senior vice president of lifestyle products for AARP Services, the taxable business subsidiary of AARP, where he directed business development, product management, and marketing of the Lifestyle portfolio to support member value, social impact, and revenue. He also served as chief marketing officer and director of creative enterprises for Share Our Strength, the entrepreneurial nonprofit focused on ending childhood hunger in the United States.

Byck started his career at The Walt Disney Company, where he held various roles, including director of corporate alliances for Walt Disney World where he managed strategic partnerships with global companies across the theme parks and resorts.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and an MBA from Rollins College.

He has served on the board of Heart of America for more than fifteen years and is also on the board of PeerForward (formerly College Summit).
