Dr. Fraser Thompson is Director of AlphaBeta, an economic strategy firm based in Singapore and Australia, which aims to integrate economics and strategy to integrate strategy and economics to solve the most important business and societal challenges. Fraser has led work on a range of sustainable food topics, including analysing the future of protein demand globally, understanding how countries can create alternative protein production hubs, and working with investors, governments, and firms on developing new business models to support the shift required in the food and agriculture system. Fraser previously led McKinsey Global Institute, the economic research arm of McKinsey, in Southeast Asia, and was also a consultant with McKinsey for 6 years, having worked across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Fraser received a Doctorate and Masters in Economics from the University of Oxford, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar. Fraser was also the inaugural President of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in ASEAN, a former board member of AustCham Singapore, and a senior advisor to IMA Asia. Fraser is a keen runner, and has represented Australia at international level.
