Mikael Kraemer

Mikael Kraemer represents the fifth generation of the Kraemer family, one of France’s historic art-dealing families, established in Paris in 1875. Today, alongside his brother Alain and first cousin Sandra, he continues a 150 year tradition devoted to exceptional works of art, transmission and connoisseurship.

In 2025, the Kraemer family celebrated the gallery’s 150th anniversary with a special tribute to each generation of the family and its contribution to the gallery’s history. The family’s connection to the art world extends even further: through an indirect branch of the family tree, their roots in the art trade can be traced back seven generations, to dealers active as early as the 1830s. 

Kraemer Gallery specialises in exceptional 18th-century furniture and decorative arts, working with leading private collectors and museums around the world. The family welcomes collectors and visitors to its private mansion on rue de Monceau in Paris, next to the Musée Nissim de Camondo.

Over the past decade, the gallery has increasingly brought modern and contemporary art into dialogue with classical interiors, presenting works in both historic and contemporary settings. This approach reflects Mikael’s belief that great art can transcend periods and that unexpected combinations can create entirely new perspectives.

Since 2012, Mikael has also been actively promoting French culture, art and art de vivre across Asia starting a World Tour. He has developed significant long-term partnerships and curated prestigious exhibitions in museums and public spaces in Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Shanghai and Beijing.

His approach is grounded in three enduring values: family tradition, passion and transmission connecting the past to the future.
