Bill Winters

Group CEO, Standard Chartered
Bill Winters is Group Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank. He has a distinguished career in banking having spent 26 years with JP Morgan eventually becoming co-CEO of the Investment Bank before leaving in 2009. In 2010 Bill joined the Independent Commission on Banking, established by the UK government. Subsequently, he advised the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards and was awarded a CBE for his services to the UK economy and financial services in 2013. Bill is active in climate finance initiatives, being part of the GFANZ Principals Group and a founding member of the World Bank Private Sector Investment Lab. He serves on several boards related to carbon markets and chaired the Taskforce for Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets. In 2020, he became the UK Chair of the UK-India CEO Forum and, in 2023, also the UK Chair of the India UK Financial Partnership, helping to strengthen economic and financial ties between the two countries Bill is an Independent Director on the Board of Stripe Inc, Member of Ant International Advisory Council, Board Advisor of the International Rescue Committee and Chair of The Coronet Theatre Board of Trustees.
