Poor air quality, flooding, wildfire smoke, and extreme heat impose rising and measurable costs on health systems and public budgets. Yet almost none of those risks are currently priced, transferred, or equitably financed at scale. Early approaches, including parametric insurance for outdoor workers, investment in cooling, and resilience bonds, have shown that the instruments work, but they’re not enough to meet the needs. How can promising pilots grow into lasting solutions, and who is prepared to share the risk? This session will convene senior leaders across investment, insurance, philanthropy, and public finance to examine where the gaps remain and what it would take to build a scalable market for climate-health resilience.
