
Dr. Katherine H. Saunders is a physician innovator and an internationally recognized expert in Obesity Medicine. Dr. Saunders is a faculty member at Weill Cornell Medicine, and she Co-Founded FlyteHealth, a software and clinical services company providing medical obesity treatment to health systems and employers. Dr. Saunders received her undergraduate degree Phi Beta Kappa/Summa Cum Laude from Dartmouth College and her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, where she became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine, where she was the first clinical fellow in Obesity Medicine (and one of the first Obesity Medicine fellows in the country). Dr. Saunders’ TED talk, “Why your body fights weight loss,” has educated half a million individuals about obesity. Dr. Saunders hosts the Weight Matters podcast with Dr. Louis Aronne, she regularly speaks at international conferences, and she publishes extensively on Obesity Medicine. Dr. Saunders has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and she has been featured in multiple national media outlets, including The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal. Dr. Saunders also makes frequent guest appearances on a variety of podcasts and TV stations including PBS and ABC. Dr. Saunders serves on several boards, and she has won many awards for clinical care, innovation, communications and leadership.
