Neuroarchitecture
Overview
People spend around 90 percent of their time indoors—living, working, learning, and healing—prompting an important conversation about how our surroundings both harbor and enhance our daily lives through their design. A growing body of evidence shows that built environments profoundly shape our bodies and minds, influencing not only our physical health but also our mental health, cognitive function, and social wellness.
In 2025, SPARC began our partnership with the Pedersen Foundation to develop future-focused insights and philanthropic opportunities to expand collaboration, adoption, and investment in neuroarchitecture—the interdisciplinary field exploring the relationship between health and the built environment—to improve well-being.
