At the Intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Art: Exploring a New World of Possibilities (Invite only)

Friday, December 8, 2023
10:15 AM - 11:15 AM
Abu Dhabi Rosewood - Lailaq

The intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and art has sparked a thought-provoking dialogue transcending traditional boundaries. As AI technologies advance, artists are increasingly incorporating these tools into their creative process. From generative algorithms that create original pieces to machine-learning algorithms that interpret artistic styles, AI is revolutionizing the artistic landscape. However, this intersection poses profound questions about copyright ownership, intellectual property, and ethical considerations surrounding AI-generated art. Experts at this private roundtable will debate the challenges of defining authorship and ownership of AI-generated artwork. Eminent voices from AI, traditional art, AI artists, academia, and others will explore further questions including: Does AI itself possess creative rights? Can AI-generated art be protected by copyright laws? What is the potential impact on artists, the art market, and artistic expression? Will the use of AI in the creation of art be a tool to augment or replace human creativity?
