More than half of American workers have not saved enough for retirement, and over 25 percent lack any retirement savings, while roughly half have no access to an employer-sponsored retirement plan. And those at the lower end of the income spectrum are much less likely to have access to a retirement plan at work. Further, women and people of color often face retirement savings gaps. In addition, we have an aging population and increases in longevity, and there is a need to ensure that older Americans are able to work longer to ensure a stable financial future. While the SECURE 2.0 Act, which was passed by Congress and signed into law at the end of last year, enhanced the ability of many Americans to save for retirement, there is still an urgent need to work to ensure that all Americans save for a financially secure retirement. We also need to encourage savings at an early age. This panel will bring together policy experts and financial services leaders for a private dialogue with MI Finance's Lifetime Financial Security experts for a thoughtful discussion and analysis of this important topic.
