Elena Okorochenko
Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific, S&P Global Ratings
Elena Okorochenko is Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific at S&P Global Ratings. Based in Singapore, Elena is responsible for developing strategy, driving business growth and enhancing relationships with regulators, issuers, investors and other key stakeholders across Asia-Pacific. Elena chairs the Asia-Pacific Ratings Executive Committee (ExCo) and sits on the Board of Directors of several S&P Global entities and subsidiaries in the region, including TRIS in Thailand and TRC in Taiwan. Elena is a member of the Singapore Management University, Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics Advisory Board and represents S&P Global as a spokesperson at international conferences on the topics of credit ratings, emerging market economies and development of Asia’s capital markets.
Previously, Elena served as the General Manager and Head of the Financial Services, Sovereign and Structured Finance Ratings teams across Asia-Pacific for S&P Global Ratings. Before moving to Singapore in 2004, Elena was based in London, where she headed Central and East European Public Finance Ratings. Elena started her career in risk management at Credit Suisse First Boston in Moscow. Elena holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Moscow State University and a master’s degree with honours in economics from the Higher School of Economics in Moscow.
