Ishtiaq Mawla
Ishtiaq Mawla is an associate director on the Science Philanthropy Accelerator for Research and Collaboration team within the Strategic Philanthropy pillar at the Milken Institute. He works at the intersection of strategy and philanthropy to help catalyze high-impact research initiatives. As an active contributor to the rare disease and oncology portfolio, he has played a key role in supporting a family foundation focused on advancing research into rare gynecological cancers, helping to shape funding strategies, identify critical gaps in the field, and foster collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and advocacy groups.
Drawing on a strong foundation in stakeholder engagement and cross-sector collaboration, he partners closely with philanthropists, families, and foundations to translate complex scientific landscapes into actionable giving strategies. His work centers on aligning diverse stakeholders around shared goals, enabling more coordinated and effective investments in research and innovation.
