Mara Abbott is a senior manager on the Ceres oil and gas team, working with investors, companies, and other capital market actors to address the risks and advance the opportunities associated with sustainability, climate change, and the energy transition. She and her team collaborate with investors, companies, regulators, and public interest groups to address the risks and opportunities associated with energy production. Before Ceres, Mara worked as a journalist, reporting on energy and natural resources from her current home in northeastern Wyoming. Her award-winning reporting covered topics including bonding and reclamation, orphan well plugging, coalbed methane bankruptcies, and the interface between the oil and gas industry and Wyoming’s greater sage-grouse. She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from Whitman College.
