In a rapidly changing world reshaped by AI and challenged by historically low trust in higher education, colleges and universities are under mounting pressure to prioritize and publicize their value, purpose, and outcomes. From rising tuition costs to campus protests and pushback against elite universities: the role, relevance, and accessibility of higher education are just a few of the issues the world of tertiary education faces in the US today. Thus, with the value of a college degree sometimes proving elusive in today's workforce, what might the prospect of US higher education look like in five, 10, and 20 years from now? University presidents and leaders in education unite to compare the relevance and trust of traditional approaches amid evolution in a job market that emphasizes practical skills and digital fluency.
