Carlos de Barros is the co-founder and CEO of Lazuli Partners, bringing over 20 years of experience in private equity, business management, and finance. At Lazuli, he leads investment operations and serves on the boards of its portfolio companies. From 2015 to 2022, he was an executive at Dasa, Brazil’s leading diagnostics company, where he served as CFO, CEO, and later as a member of the Board of Directors. During this period, he was also a partner at DNA Capital, a leading healthcare-focused investment firm. Previously, Carlos was a partner at Gávea Investimentos from 2008 to 2014 and worked at KKR as an associate from 2006 to 2008. Earlier in his career, he was an analyst at Morgan Stanley from 2004 to 2006 and also worked at JP Morgan. He currently serves as chairman of the board of Blue Health, a Lazuli Partners portfolio company, and has held board roles at Grupo Hermes Pardini, IdealInvest, Halex Istar, Rumo Logística among others. Carlos holds dual degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from Stanford University, where he graduated with honors.
