Malado Kaba served as the first female Finance Minister of the Republic of Guinea between 2016 and 2018. During that time, she reached record macroeconomic results and was instrumental in leading key strategic negotiations to secure more than $20 billion for Guinea’s ambitious infrastructure programme. Prior to her ministerial position, she was country head for Tony Blair Institute for Global Change in Guinea, advising the government on both policy and programme implementation. Before that, she worked as an economist for the European Commission in different countries.   In August 2019, Malado Kaba was appointed Chair of the board of the regulating Authority for electricity and water utilities in Guinea. She also sits on the Advisory Board of the African Women Leadership Fund (AWLF), which supports women entrepreneurs and fund managers in Africa. In December 2019, she joined the board of International Budget Partnership. In 2018, she co-founded Falémé Conseil, a consultancy firm providing strategic advice to both private and public sectors.   In November 2019, Malado received the AllAfrica Women Agenda’s (AWA) award in the category of public administration and good governance. In December 2017, Malado Kaba was named among the 10 best Finance Ministers of Africa by FinancialAfrik magazine.
