Misra leads the Infrastructure Investment Department (Region 1), responsible for the Energy, Urban and Transport sectors in South Asia, the Pacific Islands and South East Asia. Prior to joining AIIB in April 2017, Misra spent 18 years at the investment banking arm of the State Bank of India (SBI) and served as a member of National Committees of Power of the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. He also served as a Director and Investment Committee member at the SBI Group— Department for International Development (DFID) Fund for Infrastructure. Misra started his career as an R&D engineer at BHEL, a leading power equipment manufacturing company. Misra holds a post-graduate degree in Business Management from the Xavier School of Management (XLRI), India, and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Varanasi, India. He also attended the Executive Program in Infrastructure at Kennedy School, Harvard University. Misra is from India.
