The history of the global political-economic order is one of constant change; sometimes this change is imperceptible, at others, abrupt. Over two decades into the 21st century, the world has experienced a global pandemic, heightened tensions around re-globalization, a land war in Europe, and increasing political polarization, which threaten to accelerate international divergence. This comes at a time of looming global challenges—including extreme poverty, economic migration, public health, and climate change—that can only be solved through greater convergence towards shared responsibility and action.
