Jesse Milan

Jesse Milan, Jr., JD is President and CEO of AIDS United a national organization focused on ending the HIV epidemic in the U.S. Milan is a lawyer and has been living with HIV for 40 yeas. His career includes leading HIV programs and organizations at national, regional and global levels. He's addressed millions in the U.S. and Africa. He has chaired six non-profit boards including the Black AIDS Institute, was AIDS Director for Philadelphia, and chaired federal HIV advisory committees. He serves currently on the Scientific Advisory Board for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the Funders Concerned About AIDS board, and the Infectious Disease Board of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Prior to AIDS United he served 15 years as vice president of two public health contractor firms, and six years as chief of staff to the president of Temple University. In 2020 he received an honorary Doctorate from Virginia Theological Seminary for being a person of faith leading the charge against HIV and in 2022 the Alexander Forger Award from the American Bar Association for sustained HIV advocacy. He is a graduate of Princeton University and the NYU School of Law.
