Tak Umezawa

Tak Umezawa is a partner with A.T. Kearney and the global leader of the Consumer Products and Retail Practice. He has 19 years of consulting experience in Japan and the United States. He provides strategy, marketing, and organizational advice to leading companies in consumer products, media, retail, and consumer service sectors. His areas of expertise include corporate strategy, business portfolio and brand portfolio strategy, scenario planning, and growth/M&A strategy. Prior to joining at A.T. Kearney, Tak worked in marketing and sales for Nissan Motor. His publications include “Scenario Planning” (Toyo Keizai, 2013) and “Corporate Strategy and Group Management” (co-author, Kigyo Kenkyukai, 2008). Tak advised Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) on developing the "Industrial Structure Vision 2010" and facilitated METI's committee "Cool Japan Advisory Council.” He was Vice Chairman of "Venture Creation Project" of the Japan Association of Corporate Executives. He currently sits as a special member on the "Tax Commission" of the Japanese government. Tak earned his MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and his bachelor of law from the University of Tokyo.
