Masaya Hara is managing director at Albourne Partners Japan (APJ). Before joining APJ, he was head of the Alternative Investments Team at T&D Asset Management Co., Ltd. Mr. Hara began his career in finance with Nikko Securities in 1983. From 1989 to 1991, he was a proprietary trader at Credit Suisse First Boston specializing in index futures and warrant arbitrage. Mr. Hara joined Daido Life Insurance Co. in 1991 as a fund manager of Japanese equities, global fixed income, and US mortgage-backed securities. He also constructed and managed an offshore fund of hedge funds whilst with Daido International Inc. in New York. Masaya holds a BA from Waseda University.
